In this course, students learn and practice the methodology of finding 'hidden treasure' (Prov 2:1-5) within the biblical text. Specifically, students acquire the inductive Bible study methodology of observation, interpretation, and application, and practice each study step sequentially through several texts.
Understand the three-step inductive Bible study approach for finding the meaning and purpose intended by the original author, and practice applying each step sequentially to selected texts until proficient.
Through training to clearly understand observation, interpretation, and application and to draw out biblical truth to the stage of practical application, students learn to understand and interpret biblical texts on their own.
Submit assignments on selected practice texts for each step and review them alongside other students' assignments for more precise familiarity with Bible study methods.
Train and apply so that God's Word transcends temporal, cultural, and linguistic gaps to be applied as truth to oneself today, not merely as a methodological study.
