Overview

Marriage is the first community created by God for the most intimate personal relationship between husband and wife as human beings. You will learn how to enjoy happy marriage with your spouse by learning the biblical view of marriage and roles of husband and wife.

  • It takes eight 150-minute sessions (total 20 hours) to complete the course.

Contents

  1. Outline the biblical foundation about marriage and study the concepts presented in Gen 2:24.
  2. Learn and apply communication skill that is an important skill to enhance the intimacy between husband and wife.
  3. Understand and apply the specific roles that God designed for husbands and wives.
  4. Study about love life through love and sex and learn three construction blocks for a better marriage life.

Overview

You will learn a guide for parents whose desire is to raise a child to become a mature and responsible Christian from this course. Some of the essential “nutrients” for growth to maturity are dealt with, as are some of the major hindrances that can cause a precious seedling to be uprooted before it has a chance to see maturity. You will look at the biblical teaching on childrearing and learn some practical ways to apply the ideas you find in Scripture.

  • It takes twelve 150-minute sessions (total 30 hours) to complete the course.

Contents

  1. Understand the major passages of Scripture which deal directly with the subject of child-rearing.
  2. Outline strategies for shaping a child’s will without breaking his spirit, and explain various aspects of parental responsibility in child-rearing and discuss the limits of parental responsibility and the role of the child’s will.
  3. Demonstrate a grasp of the characteristics of children at various age levels and an understanding of appropriate goals for training at each level and explain the need for firm and loving discipline of children and identify methods of discipline that we appropriate at various age levels.
  4. See progress in the areas of communication, love, and respect and genuine involvement and interest to your children, and lead a child to Christ and nurture him in the Christian faith.
  5. Aim at the ultimate goal of releasing a child to live as a responsible and independent adult.

Overview

You will learn how to become an effective people helper. To be such person, you must first examine your own life before God. For your own sake and for the sake of others, it is crucial that we understand the truth that the Scripture teaches about who we really are in Christ as we explore the realities of our experience in waling with him. Although this course in not intended to produce professional counselors, you will develop your abilities to help others look at their lives biblically.

  • It takes ten 150-minute sessions (total 25 hours) to complete the course.

Contents

  1. Understand it is biblical for mature Christians to help others in problems and recognize the truth about your identity as God's child. Develop a biblical foundation for understanding yourself by studying the designing of people in God's image and how it was subsequently damaged by sin through the Fall and also the effects of redemption on your design.
  2. Understand the core capacity of thirst from the Bible and personal experience and exercises. Explain how human minds were designed to be perfect, were damaged by sin in the Fall, and how personal salvation creates an opportunity for a renewed mind and transformed thinking which directs decisions, choices, feelings, and behavior.
  3. Learn how to use the technique of "storyboarding" to assess past and present directions in your own life and in the lives of biblical characters. Develop a biblical frame to see your life based on the four capacities.

Overview

In many parts of the world today, wars, ethnic conflict and civil disturbances, crime and natural disasters have left people traumatized. Often those traumatized are Christians, and the church has a clear responsibility to care for them. You will learn how to help others after major trauma has occurred as church leaders. Because the knowledge on God, his character, and God's relationship to us are the foundation to heal trauma your will learn the understanding and overcoming the trauma through the word including basic counselling principles.

  • It takes eight 150-minute sessions (total 20 hours) to complete the course.

Contents

  1. Discuss the questions about God that come when there is great suffering. Recognize that wounds of the heart need to be cared for, in the same way that physical wounds need to be cared for. Describe the process of grief that allows us to be healed from trauma and loss.
  2. Understand the special topics that may be important for your community: helping children who have experienced trauma, helping women who have been raped, ministering in the midst of AIDS, and caring for the caregiver.
  3. Learn "Taking Your Pain to the Cross" which provides a special time for people to experience God's healing of their pain in a very meaningful way.
  4. Learn how to live as a Christian in the midst of ethnic tension if your community is torn by ethnic tension.

Overview

You will look at the characters of God in terms of his perfection and define the biblically. Also you will study how God and his characters work in our life. This course helps you understand and practice how the characters of God can be manifested in your lives.

  • It takes eight 150-minute sessions (total 20 hours) to complete the course.

Contents

  1. Define the character of God in terms of his perfection and make a biblical definition of each of the characters of God.
  2. Examine Bible verses that declare characters of God and study biblical examples that display characters of God.
  3. Examine your life from the past to the present to find how God has revealed himself and his characters to you and find ways to apply the characters of God in your life and decide to put them into practice.
  4. Commit to obey the command to “praise God” so that characters of God can be displayed through you and your life.
